ABOUT RADIO 74!

History

Radio 74 was founded in 1981 by Ron Myers in Collonges-sous-Saleve, France, as the first English-speaking station in that country. With a passion to bring Jesus Christ to the countries of Europe, Ron had a vision to build Christian FM radio stations in many of the major cities.

The first broadcast on January 17, 1982, went out from the floor of a spare bedroom in a friend’s home, the transmitting antenna temporarily attached to a lightning rod on the slippery slanted roof.

Immediately, letters began arriving from listeners. A major Geneva, Switzerland, newspaper published an article about Radio 74 that first week on the air.

Over the years Radio 74 has grown into a ministry which broadcasts in several languages, with satellite listeners in some 100 countries. Studios are in France.

In North America, over 50 local FM stations from the Bahamas to Alaska are rebroadcasting the RADIO 74 INTERNATIONALE network. Many new full power non-commercial FM stations have been built during 2011 and 2012. Many more are planned to begin broadcasting in 2013 and 2014, including a powerful AM station in Alaska.

Mission

Our overall purpose is to lift up Jesus Christ and Bible truth that He may draw all men unto himself. We seek to help finish the Gospel commission “to all the world in this generation.”

We have a passion for souls, whoever they are, and wherever they live on Earth. Our primary mission is to reach secularized people of Western Europe and North America, yet we go wherever and whenever called.

We believe that the Holy Spirit awakens and converts hearts and minds as Present Truth is fully and clearly presented. We are committed to teaching faithfully and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ with particular attention to the prophetic messages contained in the books of Daniel and Revelation, which we emphasize in the spirit of kindness and Christian love.

Affiliation

RADIO 74 INTERNATIONALE - AMERICAS is completely separate and independent from RADIO 74 - EUROPE, legally, financially, fiscally and in terms of control and programs broadcast. Neither network is controlled or financed by any particular church, denomination, religious or any other organization. Neither does RADIO 74 INTERNATIONALE own, finance, or directly or indirectly control or intervene in an affiliate local radio station's choice of programming. Local FM affiliate stations are the masters of what they decide to air or not air. Consequently, certain affiliates only re-broadcast portions of programming offered by RADIO 74 INTERNATIONALE. Check with your local FM station for their schedule.

Programming on RADIO 74 INTERNATIONALE - AMERICAS is uniquely for the Americas. It does not contain the same music and speech content as RADIO 74 - EUROPE which is obligated by French licensing authorities to broadcast a certain amount of secular music, news and cultural programs. RADIO 74 - EUROPE is heard on the web. RADIO 74 INTERNATIONALE - AMERICAS does not yet stream on the web, but you can listen to KRSF, Radio 74's flagship station, using your favorite web browser.
